Alex Frew releases shimmering debut EP ‘Cobalt’

Following a string of stellar introductory singles, Canada’s rising star Alex Frew is unveiling his highly anticipated debut EP ‘Cobalt’. The six-track release invites listeners to dive into an ocean of dark, dreamy pop. Alongside nuanced production and infectious melodies, Alex delves into introspective depths with his songwriting, indicating his unbounded talent for authentic lyricism.

Speaking of the meaning behind his new EP, Alex reveals: “Cobalt is the colour I associate to all of emotions and the entire sonic palette of the EP. Dealing with introversion, depression, substance abuse, and search for romance. The colour Cobalt represents the moody, blue emotion that inspired the creation of this project, and has stuck with me for the past several years.”

Hailing from Toronto, this upcoming singer-songwriter only arrived on the scene last year, but he has already been making waves. He has attracted global coverage from Mahogany Sessions, BBC Bristol and BBC Guernsey, as well as BBC Radio One with ‘Best New Pop’. Capturing the rollercoaster of adolescence with gripping lyricism, and enveloping it in magnetic sonic delivery, Alex Frew is an artist set for huge things.
