Listen Here – Out Now!
Alhocca, the electrifying singer, songwriter, DJ, and dance graduate, is ready to shake up the scene with her debut EP, ‘Malvada Filosofia‘, which dropped on the 16th of May, 2025. This six-track masterpiece weaves together pop, pagodão baiano, samba rock, rap, and Afrobeat, delivering a vibrant sound that pulses with the energy of her live band. With a career that skyrocketed in 2023 with hits like Ela Humilha and Sem Tempo pra Brincar, Alhocca now cements her place as a transformative force in Brazilian music.
Malvada Filosofia marks a sonic evolution for Alhocca, moving from minimal beats to a rich, full-band sound that bursts with life. Each track tells a unique story, reflecting her mission to inspire, especially women and men who champion equality. The EP kicks off with a reimagined Baile, transformed into a high-energy pagodão baiano.
The second track, Dissbocada, is a fierce diss rap with a clever pun in its title. Written in response to the music industry’s treatment of women, it’s a bold, confrontational call-out, packed with powerful rhymes and unyielding honesty. Dádiva, the third track, features Bruna Liviero, born from a chance meeting at Cine Expressão in Ceilândia, where Alhocca won first place for her Sem Tempo pra Brincar video. This spiritual yet danceable groove, produced by Todd Henrique, blends their contrasting worldviews, Alhocca’s atheism and Liviero’s spirituality.
Ameaça Atraente, an Afrobeat gem, showcases Alhocca’s spatial harmonies that captivate through earphones. The EP then turns introspective with Comecei e não vou mais parar, a samba rock tribute to Jorge Ben Jor. Infused with jaguar sounds and ukulele played by her husband, Roggermx, this track is Alhocca’s anthem as a Black woman in Brazil, defying those who try to diminish her. She channels a popular saying, “when the jaguar dies, everyone’s a hunter”. The EP closes with Não me olha assim, a heartfelt ode to Roggermx, celebrating their unstoppable love and mutual support.
Alhocca’s journey is one of grit and courage. From her roots in hip-hop dance groups to her multidimensional 2023 solo show at Sesc DF as director, producer, choreographer, and costume designer, she’s a force of nature. Her 2025 performances at Favela Talks, Rua6 in Rio, and the Black Consciousness Festival alongside Seu Jorge and Raça Negra prove her unstoppable rise. A dance graduate who left a Physical Education scholarship to pursue her passion, Alhocca uses art to transform, supporting causes like Lagoinha’s defense and modeling for Salomão Ferretti Wear’s LGBTQIA+ activism. Her dream is a self-sustaining institute for diverse artists, led by women and youth, where art changes lives, starting with children.
With nine music videos, festival appearances like Favela Talks, Consciência Negra, BBDW, Baile da Rua6, and a 2024 Cine de Expressão win, Alhocca’s iconic afro and voice, blending strength and delicacy, make her unforgettable. Malvada Filosofia, produced with Todd Henrique and Rodrigo da Cruz, is her boldest statement yet.
