Angus Parkin shares feel-good track ‘Commitment’ from his new album ‘It’s a Chemical Thing’

Angus Parkin showcases exactly why he should be on your radar with his vibrant track ‘Commitment’, taken off his brand new album ‘It’s a Chemical Thing’ released today. ‘Commitment’ features the vocals of Lauren Dejey, with the pair delivering perfectly blended harmonies and warm, rich vocal notes. Angus’ sound is both ear catching and soulful, fusing a wonderful concoction of lo-fi bedroom pop, rhythm and blues and soft rock. His well-honed sonic brew is seriously stand out, and his single ‘Commitment’ is an undeniably infectious record.

Discussing the single, Angus said: “The inspiration behind this track is that feeling of knowing something is right. You don’t need to rush it, or take it a bit slow – it’s in that goldilox zone. Everything is just right, and you’re ready to commit 100% to it.”

Speaking about the message behind his album, he explained: “This album explores a relationship from start to finish – but from a chemical point of view. We can all relate to different situations and feelings, but we rarely stop to think about ‘how’ we experience these things. This record is my take on that ‘how’ feeling.”

Beginning his career as a session guitarist, Angus transitioned into the songwriting world, and whilst primarily focussing on writing for other artists, he began to discover his own sound. Taking inspiration from artists including Bruno Major, John Mayer and Tom Misch, Angus has found his own distinctive path that is strikingly authentic and intriguing. Angus’ album is a must-listen, and we can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store for this talent.
