Bringing poetic songwriting to the city of Manchester, Arkayla have been tagged as ones to watch from their first release. Rising through the iTunes charts, finding support from BBC Radio 6Music, and receiving ‘record of the week’ on XS Manchester, the band have gone from strength to strength, slowly enticing tastemakers and fans alike.

Ahead of a string of tour dates across the UK, Arkayla has just dropped their latest single ‘Ella Malone’. Bringing a swaying nostalgia to the centre of their sound, the group showcase their softer side, breaking away from the riotous nature of the previous single ‘Rita’ for a 60s-tinged atmosphere.

As the guitar moves from bar to bar with a sense of grace and elegance, the vocals deliver a wash of melancholy, supported by a gentle drum beat and a free-flowing bass line. Rising harmonies lend themselves to Beatles comparisons, whilst Arkayla’s sense of the world is distinctive, fresh and unique.

Romance seeping from the frequencies, Arkayla let their personalities mirror their music in a new light, inviting listeners into a timeless vulnerability.

Fin, Arkayla’s guitarist, speaks on the track’s place in Arkayla’s growth, “Anyone who has been a long time follower of our band knows just how long this song has been around. We first wrote it back in 2018 before we even had a clear vision for what we would be as a group. It’s been a fan favourite at all our live shows, in fact I don’t think we’ve ever played a gig without it. To finally be able to say it’s out now after all these years is just mad. we hope you love it as much as we do.”
