Arliston return with superb new alt-pop single ‘Centre’

2021 feels like the year of the alternative, and this incredibly talented trio have conjured up something pretty special during the pandemic that hit us all hard. Working to create a sound full of alt-pop textures that will resonate with the many, Arliston’s new single ‘Centre’ is a pure example of a song that ebbs and flows and takes you afloat with an ease that can only be desired.

With clear direction from working with a producer for the first time, it has only enhanced the group’s sound sonically and creatively too. And with Jack’s simply stunning vocals that range from low The National esques tones to high Bon Iver ones, his tonality is unmatched and such a modern day gem to discover and unravel as you implore more of this band’s work. ‘Centre’ is certainly at the forefront of this, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for them.

Speaking on the workings of ‘Centre’, Arliston explains:

“Before ‘Centre’ we’d never worked with another producer; having to explain ourselves had an unexpected effect on what came out. The identity of the ‘Centre’ is still very much “Arliston” at its core, but the fresh approach and bold textures took the project to an entirely new place that we were surprised and delighted to arrive at.

“Centre is a song about getting your priorities wrong and subsequently having to sacrifice something precious.”
