Rising alt-rock outfit ASH BABY returns with a brooding and explosive new single, “Wicked Eyes”, a thunderous yet intimate exploration of desire, guilt, and emotional unrest. Blending shadowy melodies with raw punk intensity, the track marks a bold next chapter for the Norway-based four-piece.
Led by the evocative vocals and searing guitar work of Keira Niamh Screeche-Powell (Phoenixx), with Felix Grønstein Ulstrup on lead guitar, Wendy Marie Langballe on drums, and Elias Elverum on bass, ASH BABY conjures a sound that’s equal parts grunge grit, melodic angst, and euphoric punk firepower.
“‘Wicked Eyes’ is about having feelings for someone you shouldn’t,” says Keira. “It’s about lust in a way—but also the internal war between what’s good and what’s right.”
Following the release of their first single “Look Mom, No Hands”, in early 2024, and “Haunted” at the start of 2025, “Wicked Eyes” dives deeper into ASH BABY’s emotional and sonic palette. The track builds slowly, the calm before the storm—before erupting into a wall of swirling distortion, haunting hooks, and visceral vocals that capture the ache of forbidden love and the guilt that trails behind it.
ASH BABY’s distinctive edge comes from their refusal to shy away from discomfort. Their sound lives in tension between intimacy and fury, melody and chaos, yearning and restraint and “Wicked Eyes” is the band at their most vulnerable and unfiltered yet.
With a growing fan base across Scandinavia and beyond, ASH BABY is carving out a space all their own: fearless, unflinching, and unforgettable.
