Leaving a background of law, tech and finance behind, B3AM (pronounced beam) channelled a love and passion for music into a career as a DJ and producer. Uplifting melodies, positivity and mesmerising performances are all building blocks of his music. The artist is on track to becoming a prominent figure of the Nigerian EDM scene, hoping to then break out globally.
B3AM sophomore release is brand new single ‘High Road’, a track in which the producer shows off his impressive skills in building atmosphere, captivating the listener for almost half the track before we see the first drop of pure, jump-out-you-chair, energy. Masterfully lacing soft keys and swirling synths, the vocals and arpeggiator start to build a hazy, glowing space, allowing more instruments to join as each part builds. With the first sign of drums, we get a weak but growing screaming lead, with the two parts building in texture and complexity as we get closer to the drop. We then get a full scale, punchy club anthem, with the melodies and kicks cutting through all else and taking centre stage. This dance between the slow elements and the high-octane drops keeps the track engaging throughout.
