Bacchanal drop EP ‘DIY Lobotomy’

Surrey-hailing Bacchanal is a three-piece with a driving fusion of all things guitar-based. Grunge, indie, punk, prog, and rock are all present in their music, as they up the tempo and dive into unexpected themes. Performing together for close to half a decade, the campaign is cemented, so get on and enjoy the ride.

Their latest release is a seven-track EP entitled DIY Lobotomy. Keeping their indie flair, they also bring in plenty of energised complexity, with melodies that might be heard from The Smiths, followed by lines you wouldn’t be surprised to hear under the fingers of Dave Mustaine.

Relentless in intention, facetious in delivery, their every bit the dark and entertaining package you sign up for, with each track a highlight for a new reason.

The band provides a bit of insight into how this record came about, commenting, “We originally wrote the record last year, but ended up scrapping it; the songs were just too long. So, we went back to square one, aiming for shorter tracks and added a few extra tunes to keep things interesting. The EP explores themes of regret, love, debauchery, insurance claims & daydreams.”
