Based in Brighton, Bighead Tea Drinkers unveiled their debut EP Travel Far, Get Away earlier this year, cementing their press attention and sell-out shows in Brighton, London, Birmingham, and Bristol as no short-lived success. Comprised of Freddie Brindle on lead vocals and guitar, Marshal Tyce on drums, Ellie Hart on lead guitar and Kian Ramsay on bass the four-piece goes from strength to strength.
The first release since that influential four-track, Bighead Tea Drinkers have shared ‘Flowers’ a single drenched in indie-rock rose-tinted bliss. With bright guitar tones, driven drum rhythms and an underlying bass groove that brings it all together, the track twinkles like moonlight with subtle, glittery synths supporting the high frequencies.
Vocally, the track builds on an evolving romance, with passionate performances of infectious melodies in the chorus growing into a stadium-filling atmosphere. A fantastic new indie anthem.
The band all add their thoughts on the track, Marshall describing the track as, “A feel-good summer tune in its rawest form. It’s the type of song you play while sitting on the beach watching the sun set.” Freddie then adds, “It’s a summer song that makes you feel like you’re lying in a field of daisies with the person you’ve caught feelings for”. Whilst Ellie comments, “The chorus will be stuck in your head for days, just like that one person you can’t stop thinking about.”
‘Flowers’ is out now!
