Following on from their Zoom-style video for their single ‘Got It’, created during 2020’s quarantine, trio Bexk, Lilac X and Korahjay – aka BLK, have returned with a fully-produced video for their empowering track. The single is a slick concoction of R&B, Pop, and Hip-Hop, threaded with messages of self-worth, unabashed sexuality, and fearless individualism.
The Toronto-based trio are making a big impression, creating a distinct genre-bending sound with a much bigger mission in mind. Korahjay explains: “We are changing the narrative on women working together.” Bexk adds, “We’re strong women who are bringing something new.” And Lilac X further explains: “There is no template to what a woman should be.”
Since forming in 2019, BLK have propelled full steam ahead in their musical careers, catching the ears of many, and rapidly growing a loyal fanbase. The multi talents write, produce, and perform, fusing their individual styles to create a glowing power-group.
The trio explain: “Because we are so different, a lot of people are able to relate to us. We want for our lyrics to speak to everyone in their own way. We’re always going to be inclusive—never exclusive.”
Their new video for ‘Got It’ is to be followed by their single ‘FWM’ (Fu*k with Me) and ‘Girls’ which will coincide with their highly anticipated debut, the BLK Girl Magic EP. Carrying an integral inspiring message, and radiating a compelling authenticity, the trio are showing no signs of stopping, and we can’t wait to hear their gleaming new projects.
