Bloxx haven’t been around too long – they don’t even have an album out yet – but the Londoners have been practicing and writing together for a little while now. Their latest song, ‘Coke‘, comes from the earliest days of their band; singer Ophelia Booth told Clash “I wrote it at a time where I was naive, I hadn’t grown up yet and didn’t really understand what being a young adult entailed…”
However, their chemistry and experience having grown since it was first written, the final recorded version of ‘Coke‘ shows Bloxx are a band with ingenuity and depth. At its core it’s a straightforward rock song, but imbued by interesting guitar sounds and production choices it has genuine heft and dynamics. It’s further proof that Bloxx are a band to keep an eye on. Listen below.
Bloxx will be touring all over the UK over the next month, so check their dates on their Facebook page and grab a glimpse of this band on the rise.
