Bones on guitar, 8 on drums and Arfa on vocals and bass, Bones Ate Arfa are having a widespread impact, especially on the live scene thanks to truly electrifying performances. A presence on social media has also helped them surge, with recognition from Royal Blood and Tigercub coming through TikTok. They’re set to head up a UK tour, received praise from the music press and been played on UK radio, it’s up and up for Bones Ate Arfa.
Cementing their presence, the Brighton trio have released their debut EP Akimbo People. The opening riff on the project is an immediate unlock for the sounds the audience is set to experience over six tracks. Boasting a blockbuster sound throughout, the band’s purposeful production walks the line of innovation without levelling a self-serving need to be ‘different’, being authentic to their influences but increasing their personal taste.
Bones Ate Arfa knows their instruments and exactly how to push them, but they also know how to write a furious anthem that connects with audiences through headphones or on the stage. This adds a bounce and sense of fun to their progressive, punk-edged, technical direction. Whether plodding down a riff-driven dystopia or roaring into a new world, the band showcase their ability to be unique and build on what makes them an exciting new prospect.
The band comments, “The Akimbo People EP is a body of work all about relationships and how the ups and downs are really unpredictable.”
