Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire – The city was buzzing with excitement as the local chamber pop band Beware of Trains announced the release of their brand new festive single “Forever Home”. The hit track, mixed and co-produced by renowned producer Darren Allison, is set to conquer the hearts of their fans and music lovers alike. The song will be available on all music platforms starting November 24th and for digital download on Bandcamp from November 17th. Beware of Trains is composed of singer and songwriter Leighton Jones and soprano Marie Claire Breen. The duo, who first met in 2014 while performing in a unique operatic show, immediately bonded over their love for musical theatre, Kate Bush, and The Divine Comedy.
The Yorkshire-born Leighton, who had a successful career as a keyboardist for the Celtic fusion group “The Peatbog Faeries”, and Scottish soprano Marie Claire, who graduated from the prestigious Royal Consvatory of Scotland, found each other and created a musical duo that has been spreading joy and enchantment ever since. Leighton, who has always been fascinated by music and performance, reveals that his inspiration for the band’s name came from his childhood memories of living near the Keighley Worth Valley Railway. “My earliest memories are going down to see the trains with my elder brother. We used to hear my mum frantically shouting ‘KEEP AWAY FROM THE TRAINS!’ whenever we got too close. That’s when I decided to name the band Beware of Trains, it just felt right,” shares Leighton with a nostalgic smile. Their hit single “Forever Home” draws inspiration from the slogan of a local cat rescue center in their hometown of Yorkshire.
The phrase “Helping cats and kittens find their Forever Home for over 40 years,” deeply resonated with the duo, who wanted to capture the sense of longing and belonging that the festive season brings. The piano-driven ballad, which features the beautiful voice of Marie Claire accompanied by shimmering strings and heavenly harmonies, takes the listeners on a journey through snowy Yorkshire fields and skies. The song evokes a sense of nostalgia and joy while reflecting on the passing years and the feeling of saying goodbye to loved ones. To celebrate the release of “Forever Home,” Beware of Trains will be embarking on a UK tour from December 1st to the 3rd, with performances in Halifax, Newcastle, and Glasgow. The band will be joined on stage by multi-instrumentalist and Leeds Conservatoire senior lecturer Laura McIntosh, who will add her touch of brilliance on keys and bass. The show promises to be a magical and enchanting experience, filled with symphonic chamber pop originals and nods to their inspirations such as Kate Bush, Neil Hannon, and Orlando Weeks. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of “Forever Home” and are already marking their calendars for the digital drop on Bandcamp on November 17th, while the rest of the world can stream the single on all music platforms starting on November 24th. With their unique blend of musical genres and captivating live performances, Beware of Trains is set to take the music industry by storm and spread their enchanting music far and wide.
