Charmaine drops sleek and sassy music video for new single ‘Double Dutch’

Canada’s rising hip-hop queen Charmaine has returned with her sleekest and sassiest music video yet, for the new single ‘Double Dutch’ off her debut EP Hood Avant Garde. Directed by Spencer Edwards, the visual portrays Charmaine as a modern-day renaissance woman, flaunting couture and culture alongside dancers who match Charmaine’s self-assured, infectious energy.

Speaking about the making of the video, Charmaine reveals: “[It] was amazing! I had such a blast but that’s normal for us, it’s always a vibe on set! I want [fans] to understand that the only competition they have in life is themselves and you should always do your best to outdo yourself.”

As part of First on SoundCloud’s new accelerator program, Charmaine invites her closest collaborators, friends, and fans to join her in a live conversation that pulls back the curtain on her creative journey, hosted by Clubhouse on June 23rd. Charmaine has had an explosive arrival on the scene, accumulating over 3 million streams of her debut EP as well as being crowned Spotify Canada’s April RADAR artist and Amazon Music Canada’s Breakthrough artist, amongst other achievements. This is an artist is making waves in the industry, and she’s only just getting started.
