Ches Barrow’s atmospheric new single ‘Girl who ruled the world’

London-based singer-songwriter Ches Barrow reveals the lead single off of her highly anticipated debut EP ‘Girl Who Ruled The World’. Produced by internationally renowned Guitarist and producer Bassel Hallak (Tom Jones, Love Amongst Ruins, Barry Manilow, Grace Knight, Vanessa Amorosi), co-produced by Haydn Bendall (Kate Bush, Katie Melua, Andrea Bocelli, Van Morrison, Leona Lewis) and mastered by Mazen Murad (The Rolling Stones, Alanis Morissette), ‘Girl Who Ruled The World’ is the perfect introduction to Ches’ stylistic vision filled with atmospheric beats, lush synths and melodic hooks juxtaposed with her captivating and hot knife lyricism.

“The lyrics play on innocence, ego, power; badass. It’s my antithesis: I’m the good girl. She’s my rebellion. Writing this allowed me to feel powerful back when I would hide in the music room at school. And now, over a decade later, she gave me that gift again when I re-wrote the first verse to instead lean into what people think I am in the absence of being truly understood. She’s both the wildest corners of my imagination and yet, the truest thing I know.” Ches explains.

Already well on her way to becoming a noted artist and with her creative background spanning an esteemed career in Fashion, her style as a songwriter has continued evolving; Ches is a force to be reckoned with!
