You wouldn’t call Norwich alt-rockers Chicanes’ debut arrival a whisper; they’ve burst out of the gate with a bruising energy and a bold emotional decisiveness. Grammy Award winner Adrian Bushby (Foo Fighters, Muse, U2) takes the reins of production, and leaves in his wake the rawness of their conviction with the refined cohesiveness of a fantastic record.

Lead single ‘Fray’ sets the tone with devastating precision. Haunting and skeletal but giving way to shoegaze-soaking and guitar-driven catharsis. Praised by their producer-in-chief as “the song will take Chicanes around the world.”

The album spans moods, shifting between grungey introspection toward thunderous alt-metal stomp, riff-heavy swagger coming to terms with atmospheric weight.

In their own words, “We are going for heavier, more refined, deeper story telling in our writing. We have finished recording our debut album “Something Beautiful” with Adrian Bushby, and we are excited to start a new era. Having played in London and Cambridge, and being a very well known name in the Norwich music scene, we are playing our debut album launch gig at Voodoo Daddy’s on the 20th June with Fleas and AJQJ. We are known for our high energy live gigs, catchy choruses, hooks and riffs, and loud sets. Nominated for Rock category at NGM Awards 2024 and set to appear in multiple interviews and podcasts. with music videos and photoshoots on the horizon. We are excited to share the beginning of our journey with you.”
