Back with their latest enchanting release, ‘It’s Gonna Be Okay’ is a glistening EP with a feel good indie persona. Effortlessly performed and consistently bringing positivity to the table, the world needs more of Dutch Criminal Record in the world right now. Reminiscent of 80’s indie, bringing together elements of Cocteau Twins and The Cure whilst also capturing an air of 6 music favourites Death Cab For Cutie, Return to Dust is an an insight to the EP’s vibrant soundscape.
Speaking about leading single ‘Return To Dust’, Sam explains,“I wrote it during the first lockdown whilst listening to early Radiohead. It was the first proper ‘love’ song I’d written in years and it’s about the early stages of falling in love and all the confusion and weird feelings it brings. After making a quick demo of the track I emailed it over to Joe who wrote that dreamy guitar riff and added some extra acoustic guitars and keyboard parts.”
With Successes including Clout, Rolling Stone India, Killing Moon and radio play on Radio X all coming as a result of Novium Records and Dutch Criminal Record’s work, the local scene in Chichester has never been stronger.
