Emerging across the pandemic thanks to his fast-paced and consistently quality release schedule, Chris Birdd has a committed and organic following that continues to grow. Writing, producing and mixing the majority of his music, Chris shows skill across the creative spectrum, remaining in control of his ideas and pushing an intricate creation vision. Featuring the likes of Netflix, Peacock, Forbes, and the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Chris can invoke a unique energy to those who listen.
Continuing to maintain a high-octane timeline, Chris’ latest project is the high energy ‘Ascension E.P.’, with the Los Angeles artist bringing three dynamic tracks brimming with punchy drums and infectious vocal performances, laced with a dark haze. Track one ‘VIBE CHECK’, opens the project with a swirling synth hum, and clicky percussion, setting the tone for the rest of the EP. ‘NOT ME’, then follows with a more melodic vocal performance, lying back into a distant keys melody and gut-punching 808s. Last of the trio, ‘FLEX’ is topped with a self-assured, braggadocios performance, and laced over ethereal electric guitars and melodic bass lines.
Chris explains, “Over the past year, I’ve been churning out a lot of “vibey” music, but I felt like there was a piece missing – I needed to rap. Then, one morning, I woke up and wrote / recorded 3 songs back to back. Those songs evolved into what is now the ASCENSION E.P.
My goal with this project is to offer my fans something that not only lifts their spirits but also boosts their confidence. Music is all about energy, and trust me, this project is brimming with it. It’s set to drop just in time for “The WAVE SEASON Tour,” an eight-city tour across Europe scheduled for this July. I think subconsciously, I wanted to provide fans with new music that’s filled with high energy, so that when they come to one of my shows, they know what time it is.
