Movin On - Ridgewalkers & Coke Beats

Black Hole Recordings’ sub-label TurnItUp Muzik has released the long waited collaboration between legendary trance artist Ridgewalkers (Armada Music, Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Andy Moor) and Coke Beats. The song, titled “Movin On“, has already received support from the trance podcast Pure Trance and national trance radio stations across Europe.

Ridgewalkers are a two-piece band from Dublin, Ireland, with influences ranging from Electro Trance to New York-style Punk. Ive and EL have been making music together since 2003, although both have been involved in many projects before this. Coming from a songwriting background and specialising in instrument-based arrangements, their productions possess a rare quality and span across many genres. The duo gained early attention with a production called “Find,” which was signed to the UK label Baroque Records in 2004. Their first release featured an Andy Moor remix, which instantly received rave reviews. Over the following months, the track was played extensively by renowned DJs worldwide, including Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Matt Darey, and Judge Jules. The list is endless! The track received substantial airtime on Jules’s BBC Radio 1 show for a solid three-month period that summer. It also appeared on Armin van Buuren’s “Universal Religion Live ’04” CD and Tiesto’s “In Concert” DVD.

The song originated as a collaboration between Ridgewalkers and Coke Beats in 2018. At the time, Coke Beats was one of the resident DJs at Dublin dance venue The Village (now rebranded as “Opium”), and one of the founders of Ridgewalkers was recording live bands during the open mic night called “King Kong Club”. Their shared interest in New York underground punk music and electric guitars marked the beginning of a musical collaboration that, more than four years later, led to the creation of “Movin On”.

‘Movin On’ is a song written by legendary trance duo Ridgewalkers (supported by Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, and Andy Moor) and  Italian DJ and music producer Coke Beats. The song, written at the end of the global pandemic, focuses on the power of music and the importance of music clubs as a universal force that can bring people together through tough times. “The night moves on as stars burn bright we’re moving on”.
