Rosita is a singer-songwriter from Gloucestershire.
From an early age she has been vocally trained across genres such as musical theatre, light opera, jazz, soul and popular music.
The singer-songwriter eventually found that her own original sound resided in contemporary r&b / soul.
The 23 year old r&b / pop artist has just released her new single ‘Control’.
‘Control’ delights with the vibrant and soulful vocals of Rosita that gives life to beautiful lyrics that perfectly alongside catchy and uplifting beats.
Expressing the story of being free from a toxic relationship, Rosita composes an admirable narrative exploring female empowerment and self love.
Discussing the meaning behind the track, Rosita said: “Control is about knowing your self-worth and having a sense of freedom.
It’s for all the girls who are finally free from the shackles of their toxic ex and not excusing their behaviour; the ultimate break-up anthem!”
Born of Portuguese and English heritage, the artist draws inspiration from artists including H.E.R, RAYE, MAHALIA and Victoria Monet.
Each of their influences are audible in Rosita’s soulful, velvety style, as she blends the familiar with the unique, putting her own stamp on old-school r&b sounds.
Her original music has been featured on BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Gloucestershire and BBC Radio Merseyside on numerous occasions.
Rosita has shared the stage with artists such as acoustic singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan and classical-crossover vocalist Mary-Jess Leaverland.
She has performed at venues including Gloucester Guildhall, Deaf Institute, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and the unsigned artist stage at NEC Birmingham.
Some of her most notable performances include performing her original material with a full orchestra at Gloucester Rooftop festival and playing a set at Wychwood festival alongside her band.
