Cris Cap details celestial experience in new single ‘Angel In My Room’

With influences like Tom Misch, Steely Dan, Al Green and Chaka Khan that range from decades of musical prowess, Cris Cap brings a nostalgic flair to his distinctly modern musical style. The Germany-based instrumentalist and songwriter first began to step into music at age 12, with a highly creative career of TV directing, audio engineering and performing all culminating from that early passion.

The latest from the artist is the glowing new single ‘Angel In My Room’, from the warm instrumental blends of horns and synths to the rich grooves between the bass and electric guitar, Cris once again is showcasing his funk-fuelled attitude to songwriting. Bringing in the enticing vocals of Ugene Nght adds to the luxuriant atmosphere, without taking away from the incredible musicality within the other elements.

The track details an experience Cris Cap had at the age of 21, in which he found himself in a hospital room undergoing procedure when a he encountered something celestial. Now, the artist captures this experience in glorious R&B vibrance.

Cris Cap explains, “I never forgot what happened to me when I found myself undergoing surgery under general anaesthesia.

Waking up in a hazy post-op recovery room, I experienced something truly extraordinary. Picture this: I’m in that delicate space between deep slumber and fleeting consciousness. I summon just enough strength to crack open my heavy eyelids. There, bathed in the soft glow of a bright window, stands a nurse, clad in pristine white. She speaks to me softly, but in my daze, the words elude me. This surreal dance between wakefulness and the dreamlike state went on for what felt like many hours or days. To me, she was more than a nurse; she was an angel sent from above. The memory of that encounter never left me.”
