Written in collaboration with Healy, with whom DLG. recently toured to close out 2023, “NO SLACK” delves into the unforgiving nature of the music industry. It’s a laid-back song that explores the juxtaposition of the glamour and challenges inherent in pursuing a career in music.
DLG. shares the personal journey behind the creation of “NO SLACK,” revealing, “I wrote this song last year when I was nomadic and incredibly sick. I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep; for 2 weeks I was pretty much unable to do anything except sit at a desk in my Airbnb and attempt to make music. It was an almost comedic contrast. The only thing that came out of those two weeks was this track.”
Healy, resonating with the track’s themes, joined forces with DLG., leading to the creation of “NO SLACK”.
