Double Major ignites a spark with ‘KBN’

Berlin-based producer and songwriter Double Major releases ‘KBN’, driving nu-disco anthems into your ears with slick, groove-led production and a cultural heartbeat. It’s the latest to be taken from an upcoming EP, following ‘RKR’.

Immediate and precise, the bassline is decorated in funk influence, growing into a sparkling chorus that ignites the dancefloor. The polished, retro-futurist edge, but it also fundamentally looks toward the past. Born in Pakistan, Double Major, sees the parallels between his nu-disco style and the disco movements that came before.

He shares, “The disco era in Pakistan in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, was more than just a music movement. Disco music allowed Pakistan to connect with ideas of Liberty and Freedom, and gave power to the voices for the empowerment of women and the proliferation of education in my country.”

Building for collective joy, the spirit of ‘KBN’ and the Double Major project is a celebration of sound and space in this way. The mission is to reconnect with musical heritage, especially in South Asia. With nods to funk, disco, rave and pop, the unravelling sound is instinctive and gathering momentum.
