Drax Project Reveal Collaboration With Phony Ppl on Revamped ‘Catching Feelings’

New Zealand pop-rockers Drax Project are back with a new version of their multi-platinum hit ‘Catching Feelings’ with SIX60, now featuring Brooklyn-based, R&B/Neo Soul group Phony Ppl.

Originally released in 2019, the song has clocked up well over 105 million streams. Now revamped with an even greater appeal, Drax Project’s lovable tune about falling for someone and hoping they feel the same is certain to break through to the next level. Equipped with smooth saxophone layers, gospel-style vocals, and sweet chordal piano, the song makes for a wonderful soundtrack to the summer’s warm, light evenings, complete with a heartrending rap verse from Phony Ppl.

Speaking of the new version, Drax Project said: “The original Catching Feelings was a product of our friendship with Six60. We’d enjoyed hanging with Phony Ppl while in The States, so when the chance to reboot the song for US radio came along they were the first people we asked to hop on”.

The band are set to follow the re-release of ‘Catching Feelings’ with a run of brand new singles throughout August and September. In addition to recently being selected as a Fender Next Artist for 2021, the band impressively sold out two of their shows within days of their 2021 NZ tour announcement.
