With their upcoming album Who Killed the Vibe? looming on the horizon as a forceful debut full-length, Dread FM’s unique sound has already earned them repeat plays on BBC Introducing and spots alongside the likes of Slum Village, Fliptrix, and Red Snapper. A solo project of Flynn Murray, allowing him to collaborate with other impressive musicians the project has been gaining traction since its emergence in 2022.
Collaborating with Bones Ate Arfa, Dread FM’s latest release is the unrestricted energy pouring out of ‘Runner’. Bending genres together in a uniquely alternative sound that blurs the lines between tethered arrangements and heavy noise effects, the single opens with a metallic repeated melody, opening up into a furious first verse. Adapting through hard-hitting bass power, grinding synth design and aggressive drums, the vocals feel so elegantly at home within the chaos, transforming the track from frenzied to raw and dynamic.
Dread FM explain, “Runner is about taking back your control. The importance of getting back up when you’ve been knocked down”
