Germany-based artist MiDi KwaKwa has only recently been introduced to us, and we’re already impressed by her catalogue to date. Her new offering ‘More Than A Friend’ is that perfect edition for your chilled morning vibes.
The video for this track offers a sultry, yet beautiful visual offering that sees influences from 70’s style with a modern sound that takes influence from the likes of Nina Simone and India Arie, but with MiDi’s very own twist.
Speaking on the track, MiDi KwaKwa says:
“The song is about a girl who finds herself in a ‘situationship’ with a guy that she likes. I learned at the age of 25 how important it is to remove yourself from a toxic environment. I do not want to force anyone to be with me, if the person does not see the greatness I have to move on and never look back. After my last situationship I learned so much about the power I hold as a woman and the importance of releasing yourself from any environment that is not serving me spiritually, mentally and physically.”
