Alt-Pop artist Emi Jeen impresses in her powerful, cinematic visuals for ‘Other Side’. The dark track dramatically builds whilst carrying reverberating drums, and Emi’s sultry vocals that narrate her own experiences of bullying and trauma. The climactic video is directed by Aude Guivarc’h, the Multimedia Director and Lead Motion Designer of shows and concerts for artists including Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, JayZ, Muse, Arcade Fire and Halsey. Amidst flashing lights and eerie, smoky scenes, Emi Jeen expresses her emotions beautifully and dynamically through dance.
Explaining the meaning behind the song, Emi said: “Other Side is a manifesto to the world telling them that we are all done with the hate, control, racism, sexism, dictatorship going on in the world. It doesn’t matter where you are from, what colour you are or what you believe in, we are all warriors and we will fight together. We will no longer stay inside the box and keep quiet.”
Emi began her career as a member of pop girl group, A.K.A, who by 2012 they had their song on Ubisoft’s multi-million selling video game, Just Dance 4. In 2015 she began to embark on her solo musical adventure, rebranding and cementing herself as one to watch. Playing shows all across the globe, Emi’s natural talent and glowing aura continues to attract the attention of many, and we can’t wait to hear what she will grace our ears with next.
