Emika reveals beautiful new album ‘Klavirni Temna’

Five years after her immensely popular piano album, Klavirni, British electronic musician Emika has revealed her stunningly beautiful follow up, Klavirni Temna which is set to be deeper, darker and more personal than ever before.

The whole album, which translates from Czech as ‘Dark Piano’, seeks to explore the relationships between light and dark, a theme which is mimicked perfectly within each track. A collection of decorative piano solos, each ‘Dilo’ (Czech for ‘moment’) drifts in and out of its own sparse production to create a magical cluster of melodies and dreamy effects.

Klavirni Temna was recorded at a time where Emika was pregnant with her first child Silvy, to whom it is dedicated “To Silvy who heard it first from the inside.”

The second neo-classical album to be created from the incredible talent, her first went on to garner her a double gold certified record and over 157 million streams. This release marks the 5 year anniversary of Emika Records, celebrating 5 years of independence since her days with Ninja Tune.

Emika will play two spellbinding shows at Berlin’s Zeiss Planetarium on 28th and 29th February. Tickets here!
