Today Loveless unveil their “quintessential quarantine song – “sorry i’m a downer,” available on all streaming services now. The power ballad shows hints of emo, post hardcore, and melodic pop influences. It was conjured up by Julian Comeau and mastered by Tyler Smyth (I Prevail, Falling In Reverse, dangerkids).

According to Julian Comeau, vocalist of Loveless, the lyrics depict the hopeless feelings of clawing your way out of a low point – a feeling that Comeau explains was a common thread amongst his peers in isolation.

“sorry i’m a downer came to me almost immediately, the entire song was written and recorded in a week after I’d already completed about 20 prospective demos for the next record. Once I had the hook, I knew it had to be the next single. It tells the story of struggling with your mental health and trying to find a silver lining when everything feels out of your control, it truly felt like the quintessential quarantine song. We’ve all felt the effects of isolation and clawing your way out of that hole on your own can be far more daunting than we realize.”

Hailing from Los Angeles, Loveless is an alternative rock/emo pop band originally formed by Julian Comeau and Dylan Tirapelli-Jamail in the Fall of 2019. Seamlessly blending the sounds of the aughts with a fresh and modern twist, Loveless combines elements of pop, rock, and emo for a sound as distinct as their own fingerprints.

Their notable collaborations with Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens and Tyler Smith of Dangerkids acted as their inauguration into the scene that paved the way for their ever-growing success. With a string of hard-hitting singles and electric collaborations quickly coming into fruition, Loveless is destined to become your new favorite band. Their debut album “Loveless I” is out now.

“sorry i’m a downer” is available on all DSP’s today. Keep up with Loveless’ upcoming announcements and releases here.
