Indian-born singer and songwriter Eshani recently released her booming new single ‘Queen Shi_’ and we can’t get enough of it.
‘Queen Shi_’ is a self-love anthem with intent, where we join Eshani in calling for women across the globe to unapologetically be themselves without reservation.
As she explains it’s about “owning your true self, the universe, your culture, not settling for anything less and doing “Queen Shit”. An ambitious boss woman buying her own Yeezys, Louboutins, being the best of both worlds, standing out, being bold, creating, loving, embracing her true authentic self.”
On the track she doesn’t shy away from her South Asian heritage, combining Eastern melodies and instrumentation with punchy production inspired by her love for mainstream artists such as Britney Spears, M.I.A, Beyonce and Shakira.
Eshani isn’t here to fit a particular mould, and is passionate about changing the preconceptions of what a South Asian artist should sound like.
