Exploring new sonic horizons with Afterz’s debut double single

London-based music project Afterz makes a striking entrance onto the scene with their debut double single, “Soul Searching / Palme D’or,” released on the dynamic dance music label Club Djembe. This milestone release showcases Afterz’s unique fusion of electronic and organic sounds, meticulously crafted across continents from London to New York and Lagos.

Leading the charge is “Soul Searching,” a mesmerizing track featuring the soulful vocals of R&B artist Azekel, weaving seamlessly with ethereal production that draws from Latin, Afro, and jazz influences. Award-winning saxophonist Ikaey Asanga lends his talents, infusing the composition with depth and richness honed through collaborations with industry giants like Burna Boy and Wizkid.

On the flip side, “Palme D’or” transports listeners on a cinematic journey, blending hard-hitting rap vocals with pulsating drums and percussions. The track emanates an industrial edge, striking a balance between intensity and dancefloor allure.

Accompanying the release is a visually stunning music video for “Soul Searching,” shot amidst desert landscapes and helmed by directors Blaize Fobbe and Marlon Webster Paine. The video serves as a captivating visual counterpart to the song’s introspective themes, enhancing the overall experience for viewers.

Helmed by multidisciplinary producers Troy. and Très Chill, Afterz’s expansive vision extends beyond music to encompass design, photography, and film. Their debut release offers a tantalizing glimpse into the innovative sonic landscapes yet to be explored by this dynamic duo, setting the stage for a promising journey ahead.
