Fate Under Fire Releases Captivating Music Video for Emotional New Track ‘Flicker’

The music video for Fate Under Fire’s deeply emotional single ‘Flicker’ is here! Dedicated to his late mother, Fate Under Fire expresses his grief in the track which can be heard in every note and lyric. The sombre music video accompanying the track shows a darker side to Fate Under Fire that we haven’t seen in previous releases. With powerful imagery and stunning scenery throughout, this is one not to be missed.

“I started on my baby grand in the living room at night. The moon was shining through the French doors. I had my laptop in front of me. I started playing some chords and it all just hit me. What this song was about, how I’ve been needing to let this out. Like many songs, I ended up just getting the chord progression lyrics and melody figured out.  I couldn’t hold it together at the piano or really any other part of the process. I fleshed out the production on it and was actually fighting ugly sobbing while tracking the lead vocal track.  I knew I got the right song for myself at least, since I could barely get through it without breaking down each time.” – the song-writing process is explained by Fate Under Fire

Growing up he was told by his single mother to do what you love. This echoed through him and followed his childhood as he transitioned in bands from drummer, guitarist, to songwriter and producer, graduating SFSU only to bid his mom her final farewell after battling cancer. Feeling his mother die within his arms after praying for 4 agonising hours on top of her, after years of hope, scarred him deeper than anything else ever could.

Throughout the years, releasing 2 EP’s, multiple tours, cover videos, and self produced songs and music videos, FUF has seen extensive success between winning MTVu’s Freshman Five competition and songs getting picked up left and right for television including the theme song for NBC’s TODAY SHOW and getting best song of 2018 (La La Love) in Music Connection Magazine. FUF became Emmy Nominated in 2021 for his work on The Drew Barrymore Show and Sunday Today with Willie Geist.

With his full-length album expected to drop this year, we can’t wait to see what’s next from this indie-pop artist!
