Fenne Lily has shared a new track from her forthcoming album, On Hold.
The new track, which serves as the record’s opener, is called ‘Car Park‘ and follows the release of her album title track, ‘On Hold‘. Although the new cut is the introduction to the new record, it was one of the final tracks the artist wrote for her debut offering. ‘Car Park‘ sees the Bristol-native once again stepping away from her acoustic roots and turning to her electric guitar. Listen below.
Speaking about the new track, Fenne explains: “I’ll be the first to admit that my songs are far from uplifting, but while ‘Car Park’ chronicles yet another period of false hope and turmoil, it was written following the realisation that damaging patterns are enabled and suffered by the passive.”
“I cannot and will not blame my heartache on anyone but myself, so this isn’t a song about pain, it’s a song about power; about putting the ball in your own court; about knowing when to wave goodbye to the things that make you ache in order to make space for those that help you grow.”
On Hold is due for release on 6th April, the same day Fenne kicks of her headline tour. See the dates for that here.
