Franki Pineapple drops the almighty ‘F*** It Man!’

Already cramming more into her life than most blockbusters in Hollywood, Franki Pineapple is an artist with no limitations. From her life as a screenwriter, novelist and journalist through to her new incarnation as a singer-songwriter and social rabble-rouser, there is more to Franki than meets the eye as one of the biggest companies in the world discovered when they took her to task over her name. First dipping her toe into the music world in her twenties when legendary songwriter and actor JD Souther (Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor) hired her to transcribe his lyric journals, there’s been no stopping Franki ever since. After her producer and partner Nararaj Tribino (PM Dawn, Nile Rodgers) suggested calling her stage name Franki Pineapple (spiky on the outside, sweet inside), the name was born.

With a logo created by none other than John Pasche, who’s known for creating the iconic ‘lips and tongue’ logo for the Rolling Stones, everything was going to plan for the star. Taking exception to Franki’s appropriation of a fruit, Apple Inc sued her. “Apple brought a compromise settlement to the table which I felt deep in my soul would limit me in ways I simply could not sign on for. I had done nothing wrong; I had infringed on Apple in no way; all I had done was put my heart and soul into the creation of something cool which represented peaceful rebellion; I knew I could not back down and so I decided to fight.” – Franki Pineapple

Her victory for common sense against corporate nonsense is one of the reason’s she’s one hell of a fighter. Armed with a song-title that will leave you stunned, Franki’s whole persona is infectious and everything you’d want a rockstar to be like.
