Alt-folk storyteller known for his raw, rapid-fire delivery and a magnetic live presence, Fraser Morgan has clocked up over one thousand shows, building a reputation as a true grassroots hero. Backed by an ever-growing community, Fraser is gearing up for a major UK tour of festivals and venues across the country.
Recently unveiling his new EP Songs About Girls, less than a year after his previous project, I Hope You Can’t Relate, Fraser delivers an open-hearted collection of flair and vivid storytelling. Across the tracks, mandolins, violins, cowbells and join the folky acoustics, meeting up with rap cadences and pop flourishes, a recipe for infectious immediacy.
Friendship, unrequited love and heartbreak are familiar themes, but Fraser is able to command a charm like nobody else, build on a foundation of unfiltered honesty. The emotional resonance shines through Celtic textures, skippy beats or melodic earworms, a very human sonic world than offers far more than surface-level cries.
Fraser adds, “I’ve been really excited to get this EP out for a long time. In complete contrast to my previous EP I hope you can’t relate, songs about girls is an extremely playful light hearted one which navigates friendship, platonic love, heartbreak, and unrequited love.
I think a lot of people have been excited for me to release this too, which I think is why so many people backed it so quickly in the crowdfunding. That blew my mind to see so many people who cared so much about the music I create. This summer, I’m doing the biggest tour of my life at some of the UK’s biggest festivals. I really can’t wait to get stuck, get this EP out, get on the road and start meeting and connecting with people.”
