The dynamic reggae duo Freemynz is back with a bang, releasing their highly anticipated follow-up single, ‘Get High‘. Following the success of their previous track, ‘Disbelief’, Freemynz continues to captivate audiences with their unique blend of reggae, dancehall, and EDM. ‘Get High’ is a pumping anthem that promises to get listeners grooving with its catchy melodies and infectious beats. Produced by Gate Citizens (GC) on the StaShang label, this track is set to be another chart-topper, destined to energize fans worldwide. The lyrical theme of ‘Get High’ centers around the idea of escaping life’s challenges and immersing oneself in a dense sonic soundscape where reality fades away. Freemynz reminds listeners of the power of music to uplift spirits and transport them to a place of pure joy and liberation.

The duo, consisting of David “Catapila” Nevin and Dennis “Shango Trex” Llewellyn, first crossed paths in Tokyo, Japan, and their collaboration has been nothing short of magical ever since. With a powerful motto of “Free up your minds and live, so that your light can shine throughout the universe”. Freemynz is committed to spreading positivity and inspiration through their music. FREEMYNZ began when two Reggae musicians, David ‘Catapila’ Nevin and Dennis ‘Shango Trex’ Llewellyn, merged to create the dynamic musical force that we know today. Hailing from the vibrant island, Jamaica, Shango Trex and Catapila had already carved their names into the music scene before their collaboration. They had individual careers, each making their impact from Jamaica to Japan. While in Japan, it lead to frequent crossovers on each other’s projects. Notably, their harmony shone through in releases like ‘Rise & Shine’ and a soulful cover of Billy Ocean’s classic hit, ‘Caribbean Queen.’ The idea of forming a duo had been brewing in their conversations and eventually, the moniker “FREEMYNZ” was born. Their debut as FREEMYNZ materialized with tracks like ‘That Rush’ and ‘Time to Shine’. ‘Following up with the single ‘Dangerous’, and the remix featuring Jamaican dancehall sensation D’Angel, also known as the ‘First Lady of Dancehall’. Their 2024 debut single, ‘Disbelief’, garnered lots of positive feedback, and ‘Get High’ is poised to build on that success, cementing Freemynz’ status as one of the most exciting acts on the scene today.
