Estonia-based Turkish producer Furkan Topal and American singer-songwriter Dane Maxwell drop their debut collaborative single, ‘Hide Nothing‘, a genre-bending EDM-pop anthem that’s as raw as it is uplifting. Released on the 23rd of April, 2025, this track is more than music, it’s a testament to survival, friendship, and the courage to go through it all.
Furkan Topal’s journey to this release reads like a script Hollywood couldn’t dream up. Born in Mersin, Turkey, on October 14, 1993, Furkan’s passion for music sparked early, rapping at 13, strumming a hard-won guitar at 15, and diving into electronic music despite lacking the tools to create it. By 2014, he taught himself FL Studio on a gifted computer, releasing his first track, Dönüşüm (Transformation), a nod to his relentless drive. In 2016, he hit No. 1 on Spinnin’ Records’ Talent Pool, a high that crashed hard. As a vocal critic of the Turkish government on social media, Furkan faced unjust persecution, landing in prison for 2.5 years and also being a fugitive for 1.5 years in between, resulting in a loss of freedom for a whole 4 years in total. His saga took him from a daring escape to solitary confinement, and finally to exile. Fleeing to Russia, then Estonia, he sought asylum in March 2022, spending 10 months in a refugee camp. There, in July 2022, he rediscovered music, switching to Ableton and rebuilding his craft from scratch. Now based in Tallinn, running Potens Music Production OÜ, Furkan’s remix of Hide Nothing marks his triumphant return after a 6.5-year silence.
Enter Dane Maxwell, the Iowa-born entrepreneur-turned-musician (born August 13, 1983), whose soulful vocals anchor Hide Nothing. A self-made millionaire, Dane built a multi-million-dollar SaaS empire through The Foundation, teaching others to solve problems for profit. But beneath the success, music called. A guitarist and singer with a seven-song EP released nine years ago, Dane’s heart never left the stage. Tired of suppressing his passion, he’s now retired from business to chase his true north, songwriting that cracks open hearts. His original acoustic version of Hide Nothing was a quiet confession; Furkan’s production turned it into a global cry.
Their paths crossed in July 2023, when Dane, searching for the perfect producer to reimagine ‘Hide Nothing’, stumbled upon Furkan’s work. Out of countless remixes, Furkan’s stood tall, bold, emotive, and electric. For Furkan, fresh off a long hiatus and still adapting to Ableton, the win felt surreal. What began as a collaboration blossomed into a deep friendship, with the duo choosing April 2025 to finally share their creation. Blending EDM’s driving rhythms with pop’s infectious hooks, Hide Nothing is a call to shed fear and embrace truth, reflecting both artists’ journeys from repression to release.
