The members of the independent three-piece Galactic Fuzz hail from Miami, receiving press awards, opening for Os Mutantes, Hello Seahorse, and Dadi Freyer and touring the USA. Javier Guell, Ricky Mere and Jorge Garcia are lifelong friends, and have, in their latest iteration, grown a strong core fanbase since their debut, self-titled album, with live performances now on the horizon.
A journey of the finest rock music from a trio of clear devotees for the sound, Galactic Fuzz’s second album And the Stars is filled with the raw energy of passion for music making. They energetically span a huge spectrum, their infectious lines and intricate sound design creating a tapestry of the dark and the bright, the subdued and the unapologetic, the cinematic and the simple.
Beneath the surface of each anthem are broad, thoughtful layers of vocal harmony combined with subtle electronic elements and carefully chosen effects. Each track is a micro-pilgrimage in itself, balancing the sensibilities that root that sub-genre whilst adding a Galactic Fuzz spin. Drifting through psychedelia, fired up by heavy distortions or steadily swaying through acoustic moments, the album is short and sweet, and well worth a listen.
The band explains, “’And the Stars’ is a journey through the many shades of rock music, crafted during an unforgettable experience at Green Door Recordings in Denver. We spent our days working nonstop in the studio and our nights sleeping in the basement, fully immersed in the process. The result is a collection of tracks that range from hard-hitting, high-energy rock to mid-tempo acoustic tunes perfect for a laid-back vibe. We also explored trippy, down-tempo songs that offer a mesmerizing escape, along with an acoustic interlude that adds a delicate touch. This album reflects our passion for pushing the boundaries of rock, and we can’t wait for you to hear it.”
