Gemma Danielle is a Nottingham based artist and songwriter.
She has just unveiled her debut EP ‘Hearts Devotion’, which infuses live and electronic pop music with a hint of jazz.
Inspired by heartbreak, the record is a raw expression of the healing journey, exploring themes of feeling lost, alone and battling self-worth issues.
Across the six tracks, Gemma takes you on an upbeat and heartfelt journey to regaining her own hope and empowerment.
The title-track ‘Hearts Devotion’ is a truly beautiful piece of music with its gentle melody and the soft vocals of Gemma Danielle.
‘Hearts Devotion’ was made Chillout Track of the Week on BBC Radio Nottingham and has drawn comparisons to music greats Adele and Sam Smith.
Whilst previous release ‘End Game’, has a rising, cinematic, James Bond-esque sound to it.
‘Mystery’ sees Gemma Danielle mesmerize with jazzy vocals alongside an energetic and upbeat melody.
‘Hold On’ is another gentle track with its slow tempo, which gives the song a soulful feel.
‘Going Somewhere’ sees Gemma concludes the EP with another jazzy number, with her trademark soulful vocals and an elegant piano arrangement.
Gemma’s powerhouse vocals, coupled with her warm and playful songwriting across the EP, stands her out as a rising talent to watch.
Speaking on the EP, Gemma says “Hearts Devotion is deeply personal to me. I wrote the songs mainly when I felt defeated by my feelings. I was trying desperately to fall out of love but my heart couldn’t seem to let go. Something I know a lot of people can relate to.”
