2024 is shaping up to be a momentous year for London-based Gia Lily as she asserts herself as the epicenter of Britain’s bubbling dark-rock pop scene with new single ‘I’d Do It For You’. Since making her debut in 2021, Gia has received tastemaker support from Radio 1’s Future Pop as well as healthy stints on Spotify’s coveted ‘New Music Friday’ playlists as she quickly turns thousands of heads in the scene. Fresh off the back of an acting feature in the Apple TV and Amazon Prime Film ‘Light’, Gia is ready to assert herself as a creative force to be reckoned with once again.
Bursting out the speakers with stadium sized riffs and an unforgiving swagger, Gia Lily is holding nothing back as she places herself firmly at the epicenter of London’s dark pop-rock sound. Her signature style opens the door to huge distorted guitar lines and catchy hooks. Entwined with pounding drums and a delicate vocal, Gia stokes the fire and keeps it burning as she shines with her fierce approach to music making. ‘I’d Do It For You’ pulls no punches from start to finish, whether its cutting waves with its Royal Blood-esque guitar lines or the ferocious rhythm enthused into every note, Gia Lily is not one to be ignored.
Speaking about the creative process behind the release, Gia explains, “I wrote ‘I’d Do It For You’ on my bedroom floor with my partner and producer, Callum Rich, at midnight one night earlier this year. I wanted to write something fun, and not too serious. I’m someone who gets in bad habits of deeping pretty much every emotion I feel (which as a songwriter is great but day-to-day life, it can be exhausting) and I felt like I needed a song in my life where I wasn’t ‘deeping’ anything too much, rather just going with the flow. That’s what this song represents to me.”
