Glitter Etiquette are rapidly growing within New York’s indie scene, and their latest offering ‘A Portrait Of Arachne’ showcases their distinctive sound that presents with hints of the likes of Blur, My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins, and The Psychedelic Furs- despite it being very much their own.
The track is well and truly a wall of noise, with every nook and cranny filled with swirling distortion and haze. Soft vocal deliveries are a stunning juxtaposition for the feedback-heavy backing, delivering an atmospheric, grungy yet melodic offering.
Speaking about the release, they share: “We originally had the music from an old song I had from a previous band and Arie started reworking it and wrote new lyrics and vocal melodies, I also made some arrangement changes and we really liked how it turned out in the demos so we decided to go ahead and record it properly at 6/8 Studios in lower east side with Barnes as engineer. We are really happy with the result and can’t wait to share it!”
Glitter Etiquette are proving that this is just the beginning, and their sound is destined to take them to lofty new heights.
