Hailing from Nigeria, though now based in Bristol, England, Hanztheman is the latest artist to push creative boundaries as he releases his latest single ‘STALLIN’. Taken from his forthcoming album, the teaser sets Hanz up to turn heads for the summer. Building a strong reputation across the underground, his fusion of afro-beats, hip-hop and R&B have seen him move from strength to strength as he looks to build a name for himself.
Pouring into the airwaves, the single immediately presents that luscious silky, R&B-esque finesse. Taking cues from the likes of Burna Boy and General Levy, the single sees him seamlessly blend bluesy guitar riffs with effortless flows, all backed up with an emphatic, dynamic percussion. Penned about his move across the globe, ‘STALLIN’ sees Hanz reflect on his experiences and relationships, confronting some honest truths through sound, demonstrating his artistic finesse and authenticity.
Speaking about the release, he dives in, “This was written from my experiences with relationships moving to a new country. The uncertainty that comes with healing from past heartbreak. How hard it is to trust and be vulnerable after being hurt. The fear of wasting time again. It’s me dragging my feet’ to decide to commit. It was produced with help from my best mate Ben Boas who is also featured on the track.”
