Boasting a heartfelt indie-rock direction and hailing from the Southwest, Haytor has already opened for the likes of The Snuts and Deco. Back this with festival spots at Boardmasters, Lakefest and Oceanfest, and the band’s national position is strong. Radio play from BBC Introducing and plenty of upcoming shows at The Thunderbolt, Bristol and The Hope & Anchor Islington, their sound is set to stay.
Their latest single ‘All We’ll Ever Be’, is joyous, thoughtful and sparkling. The bright sounds of the guitar, the swaying acoustic foundation, pumping drums and a bouncy bass line all enforce a reflective but contented note. The themes speak to frontman Austin Robison’s late grandfather, an ode that would make him proud, reliving the love he held and still holds for a man who helped raise him. It’s a special track, diving into bits of life not often written about, but equally, if not more, important.
Austin shares, “It’s a heartfelt remembrance of a man who helped raise me and was always around, but it’s also a reflection on prominent grandparental and parental figures from our childhood. The writing of this song started with the lyrics and this joyful riff that we’d come up with, and we wanted the song to be full of life and energetic. We took it into the studio and our producer Josiah Manning helped us pull it together piece by piece.”
‘All We’ll Ever Be’ is out now!
