Rising producer Hotel Avra has returned with his new single ‘Be Good’, presenting the perfect lo-fi house tune to soundtrack the remnants of summer. With a dreamy, experimental ambiance focused around glimmering guitar melodies and bouncing basslines, Hotel Avra’s lush vocals add another level to the feel-good atmosphere of this chilled groove.
Discussing his new single, Hotel Avra explains: “‘Be Good’ is about the struggle of being yourself when you’re in love with someone who doesn’t love you back. A mix of joy when you feel hope, sadness when it doesn’t work, and fond reflection when you can finally move on. It’s wrapped up in a lofi house soundscape to make the whole thing feel like a memory of that love, softened by rose tinted glasses. It’s not trying to grab your attention, it’s made to be the backing track to your thoughts.”
Speaking on the track’s visuals, director Silvan Häseli notes, “The visual story developed from the idea of using special effects to reflect the dreamy feeling of this amazing song. We decided to work with paint and have the protagonist sculpt himself out of a void. And whilst the song develops, the world that once was painted by the protagonist turns slowly from a white space to a world that developed a life of its own.”
