Essex-based singer-songwriter IMONI has revealed her captivating new single ‘Cheap Dreams’. With a sound that blends pulsing basslines and bouncing beats into a dark, R&B-influenced style, IMONI’s ethereal vocals glide over the chilled track, bearing her heart with her clever and candid lyricism. Accompanied by a vibey, neon-infused music video co-directed by IMONI herself, ‘Cheap Dreams’ marks a promising release from this rising artist.
Speaking about her new release, IMONI shares: “‘Cheap Dreams’ is about the toxicity that stems from having unrealistic expectations of love and romance. It’s about the bittersweetness of seeing the world through rose-coloured glasses – which inspired my concept for the music video.”
IMONI arrived on the scene in 2017 and received huge acclaim when she returned last year with stellar singles ‘Energy’ and ‘Hide & Seek’.
