Indie duo Slomo Casino reveal their debut EP ‘Marshmallow’

Delivering smooth vocals and shimmering soundscapes driven by dynamic percussion and melodic guitar lines, indie duo Slomo Casino have revealed their debut EP Marshmallow. The pair inject an effervescent energy into their songs, from the lustful title track to the soulful ‘Somebody Else’. With a knack for creating soaring choruses, Slomo Casino have proved their undeniable potential with this promising first project.

The duo reveals: “The EP was initially written almost entirely remotely over the past year, ignited from extreme boredom at the start of the pandemic. We had wanted to create music together for ages but having nothing else to do helped kickstart the project. We recorded almost everything in Jonny’s home studio using one microphone, the only thing we took to a studio was the drum parts and they were recorded here in Manchester at Blueprint studios, where artists such as Elbow frequently record.”

In the seven years since Jack Batchelor and Jonny Ball first met, the duo have supported acts such as The Libertines, Feeder and Mallory Knox with their separate bands. Slomo Casino is a venture away from their previous musical endeavours, allowing the pair to make music closer to their hearts. The result is an authentic and irresistible brand of indie-pop which listeners won’t be able to get enough of. Check out the EP below:
