Following on from her recent singles ‘Never Get It Right’ and ‘New Girl’ which received support from the likes of EARMILK and Line of Best Fit, rising singer-songwriter Inés Rae returns with another pop gem ‘Don’t Say It’. Onto a winning formula which sees her dreamy vocals alongside punchy electro-pop textures and dynamic percussion, Inés Rae shows her candid lyrical ability as she tells the story of a partner who ought to be more honest.
Inés says of her new release: “This song is about how actions speak louder than words – in this case being led on by someone who says all the right things but when you arrange to meet at the party, they show up late and don’t even pay you any attention. This will resonate with many I think – “Don’t say it, if you don’t mean it” – after all, there’s nothing worse than easy and false promises that come to nothing. It’s my way of saying that playing with emotions is never ok. I like to write songs about relatable experiences – to tunes you can’t get out of your head.”
Aged only 19, British artist Inés Rae is already presenting a refined songwriting capability and polished pop production well beyond her years. This is just the start for this promising young artist, and we can’t wait to see what’s to come.
