Following on from her debut single ‘New Girl’, Inés Rae returns with her second ever release ‘Never Get It Right’. Although she may be new to the pop scene, this young songstress is making her mark as a force to be reckoned with. Produced alongside Matt Wills and Woody from Bastille, ‘Never Get It Right’ sees shimmering electro-pop textures and gritty guitar riffs accompany Rae’s lush vocals and introspective lyricism.
Discussing her new single, Inés Rae says: “I’m so excited to release ‘Never Get It Right’!! This is my second ever single to be out in the world ahhhh 🙂 it’s about being the one in a relationship that messes everything up, and not knowing how to change to make things better. I feel like a lot of people have been in a situation where their own insecurities have caused problems in a relationship, and that’s what this is about. It’s basically a sad bop, something I specialise in lol, and hopefully I’ve got it right. I had the best time working on this one with Woody and Matt, and I hope you love it as much as we do.”
Aged only 19, Inés Rae has been penning tracks well beyond her years. With an ability to conjure infectious melodies and lyrical candour, Rae’s bedroom pop style showcases her talent to go right to the top of the game. She says: “For me a really important part of songwriting is the lyrics – creating metaphors for everyday experiences, which I hope people can relate to.” We can’t wait to hear more.
