Maintaining an upward trajectory since her emergence in 2021, Ines Rae has seen support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ and ‘New Pop UK’ and plenty of prestigious music publications. Collaborating with industry powerhouses to take her songwriting to the next level and a feature on the soundtrack of Netflix’s acclaimed ‘Emily In Paris’ with ‘Never Get It Right’, Ines continues to become one of the most exciting rising stars of the UK.
The up-and-comer’s latest release is ‘Someone Else’s Heart’, a track that rings close to home for Ines. Telling a vulnerable story inspired by events during the time of her father’s heart transplant, the artist has produced an emotional atmosphere. Opening with a raw acoustic guitar and heart monitor beeping, the track steadily grows into an anthemic climax of pounding drums, flowing synth arpeggios and a heartfelt vocal performance. After sharing her experiences online, Ines has been appointed celebrity Ambassador for NHS England to raise awareness of organ and blood donations.
She explains, ”It’s really special to me because this song is about one of the people I love most in the world – and how it felt to watch him go through something so monumental and almost unfathomable to most people. It’s also a summary of my own feelings at a very challenging time in my life – and while sometimes I think it’s a moment I’d rather not dwell on too much – as time heals sometimes the memory of it start to fade – having the song means I’ll always have my own musical time capsule I guess.”
