We sat down with Vincent Vaughan from Ireland for his first interview with Music Crowns where he tells us a bit more about himself and his music. Check out what he has to say below and listen to the track at the bottom!
If you were to describe your music to a stranger, what would you say?
Acoustic, Raw and Organic, is how some fans have described my music.
Sometimes it’s a percussive up-tempo playing style on a high energy, feel-good foot stompers, other times its some delicate flat picking on some lonesome lost love ballad. For me it’s all about the song.
both the lyrics and melody, the narrative or story the song is trying to tell us.
What is the message, if any, that you would like to get across with your sound?
For me it’s all about the song, both the lyrics and melody, the story the song is trying to tell us.
I very much enjoy song lyrics and I love the descriptive poetry that a good song lyric can create.
It always makes me happy when I manage to communicate that poetry and the descriptive mental imagery to an audience.
If your music was a colour, what would it be and why?
I think it would be 3 colours, Blue,Yellow and Red…….Blue for the sad songs, yellow for the happy songs and red for the love songs
What artist has influenced your songwriting the most?
Rodney Crowell
Where would be your dream place to play a gig?
Right Now I have aspirations toward playing the Olympia theatre in Dublin
If you could write a song with anyone, alive or not, who would it be?
I would have to say it would be my musical hero, Mr Rodney Crowell.
What can we expect from you creatively in the next year?
Very busy year ahead with lots of Music releases planned. I have five new singles in the pipeline.
Later this year I have a five week trip to the US for a recording session in San Marcos, Texas to record more music for release later this year, and early next year. This recording project will include some self penned tracks…..
And then it’s on to Austin, Texas for a week of songwriting with some colleagues. Following this, I go to Nashville to attend a week-long writing workshop with my musical heroe Rodney Crowell. And finally, all going according to plan, I will spend a week or so co-writing with Grammy Award Winner Grey Delisle, who is about to release a song which started life in my head last year.
Where can we find you?
